During a break from working on Depeche Mode’s ’90s world tour, Julie teamed up with bestie Sephie to launch Golden Delicious, an underground dance party that’s still going strong today..when the mood grabs them!
A seasoned DJ, Julie has held residencies at Kimberley/Give, House of Honey and Fat Boy Slim’s Brighton venue, and spent eight years DJing and running DJ workshops at Bestival and Camp Bestival as part of Rob da Bank’s Music Club. She’s since taken her eclectic, party-starting sets everywhere from Secret Garden Party, Wilderness and the Mucky Weekender to Ministry of Sound, The Steel Yard and Brighton Fringe — plus plenty of local and international parties & events, festivals and slightly more questionable locations in between.
For years, Julie teamed up with MC Miss C, with the pair proving equally at home entertaining crowds in the Natural History Museum or in a filthy basement surrounded by rubble. This Summer saw them back together behind the decks at Give.
And DJing is only part of it. Julie has worked across the live music industry since the ’80s, in a variety of roles, including managing a recording studio in Brixton. She continues to work on selected major tours as a backstage coordinator, organising everything from backstage logistics to the parties that happen when the audience has gone home.
Her previous tour bosses include Depeche Mode, Prince, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Primal Scream and plenty more.
In short: decades of music, thousands of records, countless parties — and absolutely no intention of slowing down.
